Kokoa Category Migrator

A made-to-measure category migration, run from the WordPress admin with every post checked before it moves.

What it does

It's a tool we prepare for each migration, with the source and target categories you need. It adds a page under Herramientas (Tools) listing every post that will be moved, with its title and status, drafts included.

Once you confirm, each post gets the target category and loses the source one; its other categories are left untouched. It then recalculates the counts for both categories. The source category is kept, and the preview list lets you check every post before you confirm.

Why no SSH

Reorganising categories on a live blog usually means WP-CLI or running queries directly on the database, and server access isn't always available. With this tool the migration happens inside the WordPress admin, with the list of affected posts in front of you.

How it works

  1. We set the plugin up with the categories for your migration; you upload and activate it, and it appears under the Herramientas (Tools) menu.
  2. Review the list of posts to be moved and click Confirmar y ejecutar migración (Confirm and run migration).
  3. Check the updated counts for both categories.

Requirements

  • A user allowed to manage categories (in WordPress, an editor or administrator).
  • Both categories, source and target, already created on the blog.
