Kokoa Related Posts

When readers finish an article, three more on the same topic to keep reading.

What it does

Below each post it adds a Posts Relacionados (Related posts) section with three articles from the same category. Each one shows its featured image, linked title, excerpt and month and year of publication. At the end, a Ver más posts de "…" (See more posts from "…") button leads to that category's archive.

The selection is refreshed on every visit: it takes the 15 most recent posts in the category, excluding the current one, and picks three at random.

Why so simple

It runs two small database queries and has no settings page to look after. It builds on your categories: readers who finish an article find others on the same topic and a direct way into the whole category.

How it works

  1. Activate the plugin and choose where in the theme's post template you want the section to appear.
  2. When a post is opened, the plugin looks at the 15 most recent in its category and picks three at random on every page load.
  3. Below the article you get Posts Relacionados (Related posts) and the Ver más posts de "Categoría" (See more posts from "Category") button, using your theme's CSS variables for colours and spacing if it has them.

Requirements

  • Posts with at least one category and other published posts in it.
